Individual Sports Challenge
|
Welcome! If you are on this page, it likely is because someone you know invited you to support their race or sport challenge as they raise funds for the Institute for Congregational Trauma and Growth (ICTG) programs. Your friend or family member is passionate about supporting ministers who are leading congregations after trauma and they want you to be too!
Watch the quick film to the left to learn more about ICTG and what we're about. Then, find your friend or family member's event below and follow the links to contribute to their campaign. If you would like to get involved with ICTG in other ways, contact us here. If you would like to start your own sport challenge, read below. Thank you for your interest! We're glad you stopped by. |

Are you interested in participating in your own sport challenge? Read below.
Who can participate?
Anyone can participate!
What sports does this include?
Any sport! Choose an activity that challenges you emotionally, physically and/or spiritually.
How do I set a fundraising goal?
Fundraising goals can either be a dollar amount (e.g. "I hope to raise $3,000 by running a 10K) or a goal for the number of monthly donors you would like to recruit (e.g. "I hope to recruit one recurring monthly donor for every mile I run!")
How much time should I set aside to gain supporters?
We’ve found 2-3 months generally a good time frame for gaining supporters, even if your physical training is longer than that.
How do I get started?
For questions, contact the ICTG Office.

How do I get started?
- Email us and share your idea. Tell us who you are, your sport event of choice, and your challenge.
- Invite supporters for your challenge. Write an invitation letter that explains your challenge and fundraising goal (sample template). In your invitation, be sure to share your passion for ICTG and its vision to support ministers after trauma, training schedule, timeline of your fundraising goal, and link to where they can donate (http://www.ictg.org/donate-now.html). Note: Be sure to have your supporters mention your name and that they are supporting your sport challenge in the comments section of the donation form. We will keep you posted via email every time we receive a donation to support your challenge.
- Train. Set a schedule, prepare and follow appropriate training guidelines.
- Make a list of your supporters and connect with them weekly. Send your supporters regular updates about your training and fundraising progress. Invite them to start their own sport challenge for ICTG!
- Keep in touch with us about your training and donation progress. We will accept gifts in honor of your challenge and highlight your accomplishments on this page (below) and social pages (FB & Twitter).
For questions, contact the ICTG Office.
