August 14, 2014A church grant and your gifts provided training for ordained and lay ministers in an urban church in Pittsburgh. Training focused on "Congregational Response to Violence and Care for those Affected," following ongoing neighborhood shootings.
April 2014 Forum with Dr. Jannah ScottThanks to your gifts, ICTG and VOADSBC co-hosted a small forum for faith leaders and VOAD stakeholders, with guest speaker Jannah Scott, Deputy Director of the Department for Homeland Security's Center for Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Dr. Scott shared about the Center's initiatives for expanding faith leader participation in community-wide disaster preparedness. This was an initial meeting prior to a larger forum that will be held in Fall 2014.

2013 Run Walk Hike Bike ChallengeParticipants around the country dedicated a sport – a run, walk, hike, or ride – to congregations, volunteers, or ministers who are steadfast in the work of long-term post-disaster ministry. Some of the who and why of their dedications have been shared in the 2013 RWHB blog. Participants came from Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and California, to raise awareness and funding for ICTG programs by contributing a registration fee and asking friends and family to sponsor your ride or route.
